It’s been an action-packed few days for, who kicked off the week with a monologue torching‘s Department of Government Efficiency () and ended with theDaily Showhost. On Wednesday, Musk took the fight to X as his followers called on the Tesla billionaire to face Stewart on air.
In response to a video titled “Elon Musk Should Go On Jon Stewart’s Daily Show”to X after Stewart’s remarks by lesser known account @FarzadMedia, Musk wrote, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” Musk’s reply caught the attention of theDaily Show‘s official account, whichit on Wednesday with the caption, “@elonmusk we’d be delighted!”
While it has yet to be confirmed if Musk will actually show up, the potential interview is sure to make for a lively exchange given that Stewart has been an outspoken critic of DOGE and President‘s administration.
During Monday’sDaily Showsegment, Stewart slammed theof tens of thousands of federal workers across nearly a dozen agencies with little regard for their.
“How about we just take the $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that already turned billions in profits?” the late-night host offered as an alternative to the devastating firings. “How about we just close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds that’s worth $1.3 billion a year? Oh, how about we stop the $2 trillion we’ve given to defense contractors to build a fighter jet that blows, when everybody knows the next war is going to be fought with drones and blockchain, whatever that is, holy shit!”
As Stewart ramped up his tirade, he smashed a “World’s Most Dad” mug into pieces and later quipped, “I’ll be going to the hospital soon.” If Musk takes theDaily Show‘s offer, hopefully Stewart will be all healed in time for the showdown.
